Hassanpur Mechanical Works

Down here at 516 in Industrial Area-B, things are always a bit greasy. That’s just the nature of mechanical work. We’ve got the shop set up so we can get to the tools easily, though sometimes things get buried under a pile of metal shavings. Hassanpur Mechanical Works is really just a group of us who know our way around a lathe and a wrench. The floor is concrete and stained, and there’s always a radio playing somewhere in the back to keep us going. We aren’t located in one of those shiny new buildings. It’s an older part of the area, and it feels that way. Most of our neighbors are doing the same kind of heavy lifting. We spend the morning taking things apart and the afternoon trying to put them back together better than they were. If you walk in, you’ll probably see someone bent over a machine or wiping down a part with a rag. We don't do much talking when the big machines are humming. It gets loud, but you get used to it after a week or two. Sometimes it’s hot, especially in the summer months, but the doors stay open to catch whatever breeze comes through the industrial blocks. We just take the work as it comes, one piece at a time. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we’ve been at it for a good stretch now. We just keep the motors turning.
