Guru Kripa General Stores

We are located right near the P A U campus in Ludhiana, which means we see a lot of different people every day. It’s a general store, so we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves, from snacks and cold drinks to notebooks and pens for the students. The space is quite tight, and we have boxes stacked up in the aisles more often than not. I’ve been behind this counter for a long time now, and I’ve seen many batches of students come and go over the years. We don't have any of those fancy barcode scanners you see in the big supermarkets. I just know the prices by heart and use a simple calculator when I need to. The ceiling fan is a bit noisy, but it’s essential when the Ludhiana heat kicks in. Sometimes families from the nearby housing blocks come in for their daily milk or bread, and we usually have a quick chat about how things are going. It’s a friendly little spot, even if it’s a bit cluttered. We don’t have a big staff, just me and my brother taking turns throughout the day and into the night. We stay open pretty late because students always seem to need something at the last minute. It’s not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy and we like being part of the neighborhood here at P A U. We just open up and wait for the bell to ring.
