Eastman Cast & Forge

Eastman Cast & Forge is located near the airport on Gt Road. You can see the planes taking off and landing from just outside our door, which is something you never really get tired of seeing. The sound of the engines blends in with the noise from our own shop. It’s a busy industrial area, and we fit right in with the rest of the businesses along this stretch of the highway. Our day usually starts before the sun is fully up. We like to get a head start before the heat of the day really kicks in. The work we do involves a lot of heat and heavy equipment, so the shop floor is always a bit dusty and worn down. We don’t worry too much about keeping things looking pretty; we’re more concerned with making sure the equipment is working like it should. There’s a lot of metal moving around here. You have to watch your step and stay alert. Most of the guys have been working these machines for years and could probably do it with their eyes shut, though we don't recommend that. We keep a big water cooler near the entrance because it gets incredibly thirsty in the forge area. It’s a tough environment, but it’s what we know. When we’re not working on a specific order, we’re usually maintaining the tools or cleaning up the scrap. It’s basic, hard work, and that’s just how we like it.
