Phase 8 Focal Point is quite a trek from the main part of town. Our unit at K-128-129 is pretty typical for this side of the city with lots of concrete and heavy gates. We get here early, usually when the sun is just coming up, to beat the worst of the heat. The air is always a bit heavy with the smell of metal and oil from the other factories nearby. We spend our days dealing with the overseas side of things, mostly on the phone or checking crates. The office floor is a bit uneven and the paint is peeling near the window, but it works for us. We have a small kettle for tea that we use way too much throughout the day. The trucks coming in and out of Phase 8 can make a real mess of the roads, so you have to be careful driving in. Our spot is big enough for what we need, though it feels a bit cramped whenever a new shipment arrives. It is a lot of counting and double-checking lists. There is not much to say about the building itself, just that it is where we are from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes on Sundays too, if things are backed up. It is just how the work goes in a place like this. You get used to the rhythm of the machines and the sound of the shutters going up and down. We don't have fancy furniture, just some old chairs and a ceiling fan that wobbles on high speed.
