Dutta Garment Machine

Dutta Garment Machine is located at 172, 70 Road, which is right near the State Bank of India in the Civil Lines area. It’s a nice enough part of town, though it gets quite congested during bank hours when everyone is out. Our shop focuses on machines for the garment trade. We have a lot of different models sitting on the floor, some new and some that have seen a lot of use over the years. It’s a bit of a maze getting through the shop sometimes because the machines take up a lot of space. We don't have a big polished showroom. It’s more of a working space where we test things out and show people how they run. We’ve been in Civil Lines for a while now and we know the local garment makers pretty well. They stop by when something breaks or when they need a new part for a deadline. We don't use any high-pressure sales tactics. We just show what the machines can do and let people decide for themselves. It’s a very hands-on business. Most of us have been working with these types of sewing and cutting machines for years. We can usually hear what’s wrong with a motor before we even see it. It’s a steady job and we like the routine. We open up, have some tea, and get to work. It’s a simple life at 172, 70 Road.
