Dhanjal Udyog

Our workshop is tucked away at 6286/2 on Street Number 8 and 9. It is right at the back side of the ATI area in New Janta Nagar. If you know this part of town, you know it is mostly industrial sheds and small manufacturing units. We have been here at Dhanjal Udyog for quite some time now. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there is always the sound of machines running in the background. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially when we have all the equipment going at once. We don't have a fancy office, just a small corner with a table where we keep the ledgers and the phone. Most of the guys here have been working together for years, so we have a rhythm down. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time finding the back entrance because the streets are narrow, but we manage to get things loaded eventually. It is a practical place. We focus on making the parts and making sure they are done right before they leave the shop. There is a lot of grease and oil around, which is just part of the job when you are doing this kind of work. We usually have tea together in the late afternoon when things quiet down a bit. It’s just an honest living and we stay busy with the local orders that come through every week.
