At 1169 G.T Road, things are always moving fast. Cromwell Tools Ltd is right there on the main stretch where the trucks go by all day and night. The noise from the road never really stops, but we don't mind it much anymore. Inside the shop, it’s a different kind of busy. We have shelves full of tools and boxes stacked up in the corners. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is if you give us a minute to look. Most of the guys here have been working with tools their whole lives. We open up early because that’s when the workers are heading out and need things. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when it rains hard, so we have to move some stock around. It’s just an old building on a famous road. We talk to a lot of different people every day, from guys working on local projects to people just passing through who need a specific wrench or something. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's more of a warehouse feel where the work actually happens. We just try to keep the shelves filled and make sure the lights stay on. Usually, someone is in the back counting parts or out front helping a customer find a specific size. It’s a simple life running a tool shop on G.T Road, but it keeps us busy enough.
