Our place is tucked into the Guru Nanak Dev Market, specifically shops 30 to 35. It is a bit of a maze in here if you aren't used to the layout of the Gill area. We have been handling tools for a long time now. The shelves are pretty much packed from the floor to the ceiling with all sorts of things like wrenches, screwdrivers, and heavier power tools. It can get a bit cramped when more than three people are standing in the aisle, but we manage. People come in looking for something very specific, and half the time they don't know the exact name for it, so they describe it with their hands. We usually figure it out eventually. The market is always loud with people shouting and carts moving around, so we have to speak up quite a bit. We don't spend money on fancy displays or lighting. We just have the tools sitting there ready to be used. Most of the work involves checking the lists and making sure we haven't run out of the basics. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door, but we just put a bucket there and keep going. It’s a simple setup. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here, so we often share a tea in the afternoon when things quiet down for a few minutes. It is just a regular tool shop doing what it does every day without much fuss.
