Bombay Hair & Beauty Saloon

You can find Bombay Hair & Beauty Saloon on Dugri Road. We are quite close to the Mata Marriage Palace, which is a big landmark around here in Ludhiana. Because of that palace, we get a lot of guys coming in to get cleaned up before they go to a wedding. We do haircuts and shaves mostly. It’s a traditional kind of saloon. The walls have some pictures of different hair styles, though most people just ask for the same thing every time. We have those heavy barber chairs that lean back. On Sunday mornings, the place is packed with men getting their weekly shave and catching up on the local news. It can get pretty loud with everyone talking at once. We’ve got the radio playing usually, or maybe a small TV in the corner if there is a cricket match on. The floor is usually a bit messy with hair because we don't always have time to sweep between every single person when there's a line out the door. We aren't trying to be the fanciest place in Ludhiana, we just want to give a decent haircut so people look sharp. The neighborhood is good and we know most of the people who walk past our door. It’s just a regular day-to-day business for us. We drink a lot of tea while we work and keep the blades sharp.
