Bazar Sarafan is always a mess of people and scooters, especially during the wedding season. We are located at 307 in Kundan Market. It’s a tight space, but that’s how these old markets are. My family has been doing jewelry for generations, so it’s less about a business plan and more about what we’ve always done. We sit here most days looking at small stones and gold chains. Some days are slow, and we just drink tea and talk to the neighbors. Other days, it’s constant. People come in wanting to fix a broken clasp or resize a ring they’ve had for twenty years. We don’t have those big fancy showrooms with air conditioning that freezes you out. It’s just a counter, some stools, and the tools we use. Being in Kundan Market means you hear everything going on outside. It can get loud, but you get used to it. We handle a lot of traditional stuff because that’s what people around here want. Sometimes a customer brings in an old piece of gold to melt down and make something new. It’s a lot of manual work, sitting under the lamp and making sure the details are okay. We don't really do much advertising. People know where we are if they need something fixed or a new pair of earrings for a niece's birthday. It’s just how things work in this part of town.
