Aviva Beauty Parlour

In New Kartar Nagar, specifically near William Arts in the Salem Tabri area, you will find our small parlour. It is a Ludhiana neighborhood where everyone kind of knows what everyone else is doing throughout the day. Aviva Beauty Parlour is tucked into a spot that stays relatively busy during the week. We have a few chairs and some mirrors with lights around them that flicker sometimes if the voltage is low. It is a place where women from the nearby streets come to get their hair done or just get a bit of threading. The air usually smells like shampoo and some of those flowery creams we keep in the wooden cupboards. We do not have a big staff, just us working through the appointments one by one as they come. The curtains at the front help keep some of the dust from the road outside, but it always finds a way in eventually. We spend a lot of time cleaning the combs and organizing the hairpins. It is not a fancy place like the ones you see in the city center, but it works for us and the people who live around here. The 141003 area is home to us. We see the seasons change through the front window, from the cold Punjab winters to the really hot summer days. Usually, there is a bit of gossip going on, which makes the time pass faster. We just try to keep things tidy and make sure everyone leaves looking a bit neater.
