Asha Variety Store

You can find Asha Variety Store at Shop No. 22 on Cemetery Road. We are not far from Dandi Swami, which is a well-known landmark in this part of Ludhiana. The shop is full of all sorts of little things. We call it a variety store because we try to keep a bit of everything, though sometimes we run out of stuff faster than we expect. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. I usually need a stool to reach the top items. It’s a one-room setup, mostly filled with containers and boxes. The lighting isn't the brightest, but it works well enough for us to see what we’re doing. People from the nearby houses come here for their daily needs. We’ve seen kids grow up from buying candy to buying household supplies. It makes the days feel shorter when you’re busy talking to people. We don't use any fancy computer systems; everything is written down in a ledger or just remembered. Sometimes the street outside gets noisy with scooters, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of the radio. We open up around nine and stay until the sun goes down. It’s a practical way to earn a living. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in town, just a reliable one for the folks on Cemetery Road. If we don’t have what you want today, we might have it by next Tuesday when the van comes by.
