Shilpi Tour & Travels

Our office is right there in the Ashirvad Hotel building near Charbagh Railway Station. If you know Lucknow, you know how busy Charbagh gets. There is always noise from the trains and the crowds outside. We’ve been operating from this spot for a good while. People usually drop in because they’ve just gotten off a train or are planning to catch one and need a car or a tour organized. It gets pretty hectic during the holiday seasons when everyone wants to go somewhere at the same time. We have a few desks and some chairs for people to sit while we figure out their travel plans. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s convenient because the station is just right there. Sometimes we are dealing with hotel bookings and other times it’s just someone needing a taxi for the day. We don't use any fancy systems, just the usual stuff to get things booked. The tea stall nearby is where we spend our breaks. It’s a simple setup. We don't try to act like a big corporation. We are just local people working in the heart of the city's transport hub. The walls have a few old calendars and maps on them. Dealing with travelers all day means we hear a lot of stories about where people are going and where they’ve been. It’s just daily life for us here at the station, and we wouldn't have it any other way really.
