Maa Kushmanda Silk Producer Company Limited is what we call ourselves. We are located at Duli Chandra’s place in Badlesimnapur. Silk is the main thing here. It’s a lot of work that people don't always see. We spend a lot of time with the threads and making sure everything is done right. It’s a slow process and you can't rush it. Badlesimnapur is where we are from and it’s where we do all the work. It’s not a factory. It’s more like a home business that grew a bit bigger. Duli Chandra helps keep things in order but we all pitch in. We named the company after Maa Kushmanda because we wanted something that felt local and right. The village life is quiet, but our hands are always busy. Sometimes the supply of silk is hard to get or the weather is just too wet, which makes the work difficult. We don't have any big plans to become some giant company. We just want to keep making silk and helping the producers here. It’s a way of life for us in Badlesimnapur. People come by to see the work or to buy what we have ready. We don't spend money on ads. We just focus on the threads and the looms. It’s what we know how to do. We’ve been here at this address for a long time and we like it that way.
