Umapathy Coconut Hybrid Center is based at 1/81, Virat Khand in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. We’re located right at Rajendra Prasad’s place, so it feels more like a home-based operation than a corporate office. We specialize in coconut hybrids, which is a bit of a niche thing here. Most of our time is spent talking to farmers or local residents who want to plant something different in their patches of land. We keep a lot of records and information about how these specific plants grow and what they need to thrive in this climate. It’s not always easy, as the weather can be a bit unpredictable, but we’ve learned a lot over the years. Our days are filled with phone calls from people asking for advice on soil or watering schedules. We don't have a massive warehouse or anything like that. It’s just us, some samples, and a lot of knowledge about coconuts. Sometimes we’re out in the field helping someone get started, and other times we’re sitting at the desk sorting out orders. We’ve been at this Virat Khand address for a while now, and the neighbors are all pretty used to seeing us with plant samples. It’s a small, family-style business. We don’t use any high-pressure sales tactics. We just explain what the hybrids can do and let people decide for themselves. It’s slow, steady work that keeps us connected to the ground.
