Amba Tent Service

You can find us at Number 30 in the Shopping Cplx at the Lda Mkt in Kapoorthala. Amba Tent Service has been around the market for a long time. We mostly deal with setting up tents, chairs, and lighting for events like birthdays or religious functions. Our shop is full of folded-up fabric, iron poles, and bundles of rope. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in there, especially when we’re bringing back stuff from a big job. The market is always crowded, so there’s always something going on outside our door. We spend a lot of time on the phone coordinating with the laborers who actually go out and do the heavy lifting at the sites. Some days are very slow, especially during the monsoon when nobody wants to have an outdoor party. But during the wedding season, we hardly have time to sit down. We keep our equipment in a few different storage spots because it doesn’t all fit in the Kapoorthala shop. People usually come in to book for their events a few weeks in advance. We have some old ledgers where we write everything down by hand. It's an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. We don't use any fancy software or anything like that. We just make sure the trucks are loaded and the tents are standing up straight before the guests arrive. It’s what we do here and it keeps us busy most of the year.
