We have been here at Shop No. 3 for a while now. It’s right on Police Station Road in Gandhidham. The weather gets pretty hot in Kachchh, so the morning starts with turning on the fans and dusting off the shelves. Plot No. 218 is a busy spot. People walk past all day going to the station or the market. We mostly just keep things moving, checking what came in and what needs to go out. The shop isn't huge, but it fits what we need. Sometimes the tea guy comes by around eleven and that’s when we take a small break. You can hear the traffic from Ward 12/ B all day long. It's just a normal workplace, nothing fancy. We deal with customers one by one. If it's a slow day, we just sit near the door to catch a breeze. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but they’ve looked this way for years. Most people around here know where we are because of the landmark. It is just a routine of opening up, handling the stock, and closing when the sun goes down. There’s always some dust coming in from the road, so cleaning is a never-ending job. We just try to keep things organized as much as possible. It’s a simple life here in Gandhidham, and we’ve gotten used to the pace of this specific street over the years. We don't really bother with big ads or anything like that.
