Side Incharge

The office is over at 112/B in the Momay Complex. This is in Shaktinagar, which is part of Mundra. If you know Mundra, you know it is all about the port and the big ships. We are right in the middle of that atmosphere. The complex itself is always busy with different people from the shipping and logistics world. It isn't a quiet place. There is a lot of dust from the trucks and the air always has that salty smell from the sea. My desk is usually covered in logbooks and entry forms because there is always something moving. The name of the place is Side Incharge, which pretty much describes what happens here. We handle the bits and pieces of the operations that need someone on the ground. It’s not a glamorous job and the office is pretty basic with just some desks and a few old cupboards for the files. Mundra gets very hot and the wind blows the sand everywhere. We spend a lot of time on the phone or walking over to different sites to check on things. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure things are where they should be at the right time. We don't have any big brochures or fancy presentations. We just get the logistics sorted out for whoever needs us. It's practical work for this part of the country.
