Our shop is right in the middle of Danda Bazaar in Kutch. It’s a place filled with different smells and sounds from the market. We deal in handicrafts, which is a big part of the life here. You’ll see a lot of colorful things when you walk into our space. We don’t have a big corporate setup. It’s just us and the items we have collected and made. Kutch is known for this kind of work, and we are just one of the many spots in the bazaar. We spend our days talking to people who come through the market looking for something unique. Some days are slow, and we just sit and drink tea while waiting for customers. Other days, the bazaar is so packed you can barely move. We keep our stock on the shelves and sometimes stacked in the corners. It’s a bit messy, but that’s just how it is when you have so many handmade things. We try to keep track of everything, but sometimes we lose a pen or a notebook in the piles. It’s a very local way of doing business. We know the other shopkeepers around Danda Bazaar well. We help each other out when we can. Working with handicrafts means every piece is a little different. We like that part of it. It’s not like factory stuff. It’s real work from real people, right here in Kutch. We just stay open until the sun goes down and the bazaar starts to quiet.
