Uttarimata Farmer Producer Company Limited is run by us here in Adampurgonda. We operate out of Ashok Singh’s place. We are a small group of local farmers. It is not a big corporate thing, just us trying to help each other out with the farming business. Ashok Singh is the one who helps keep the records and organizes our meetings at his house. We usually sit together and talk about what we are going to plant next or how the prices are looking in the local market. Gonda is our local area and we have been living here for generations. Farming is what we know, so it made sense to start this company. It is not always easy, and sometimes we argue about the right way to do things or which seeds to buy, but we always figure it out. We don’t have a fancy website or any of those modern things. We just work the land and try to get a decent price for what we grow. Adampurgonda is a quiet enough place to work. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make things a little better for the farmers in our own village. It is hard work and the days are long, especially during the harvest season when everyone is busy. We just take it one day at a time and see how things go.
