Shree Kottureshwara Women Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group, Shree Kottureshwara Women Farmer Producer, operates out of Rajendra Gunj. Specifically, we are at Plot 8, Shop No: 60. It’s a busy market area, so there is always noise from trucks and people moving sacks of grain around. The shop itself is quite small, but it’s enough for the women to gather and talk about the farming season. We have a few benches inside and a desk where we keep the records of what the members are growing. It gets very dusty in the Gunj, especially when the wind picks up in the afternoon, so we are always cleaning the tabletops. Most of the women come in from the nearby villages early in the morning before it gets too hot. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just the open shutter and a small fan in the corner. Being in shop 60 means we are right in the middle of the trade, which is good for knowing the prices. We spend a lot of time just sitting together and figuring out how to manage the seeds and the harvest. The walls are painted a plain color and we have some charts pinned up showing the different crop cycles. It’s a practical space for work, nothing like those modern offices you see in the city. We keep the ledger by hand mostly, and there is always a pot of water for anyone who stops by thirsty.
