Bovpot Nursery And Primary School

If you know the Melakaveri area in Kumbakonam, you probably know where Swamimalai Main Road is. Our school is at No 30 D/43 F. It’s a busy road, especially with people heading towards the temples or the main part of town. We’ve been running the nursery and primary classes here for quite some time now. It’s not a huge campus, but it fits what we need for the younger children. Every morning, the gates open and the kids start arriving from the surrounding streets. We have a few rooms for the different grades. It's a lot of responsibility looking after small children, but we’ve got a routine down. The staff stays busy with the lessons and making sure the lunch break goes smoothly. Kumbakonam can get really hot in the summer, so we try our best to keep the rooms shaded. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that on the walls. We just come in, do the work, and make sure the kids are safe and learning. Parents come by to talk to us at the gate about how their kids are doing. It’s a very direct way of doing things. The building is older but it serves us well. We’ve seen many groups of children finish their primary years here and move on. It’s just a normal, local school in a busy part of Melakaveri. We keep the gate locked during the day for safety, but parents can always buzz if they need to get in.
