Sivagamiammal College Of Education is on the Bangalore Road in Krishnagiri. If you’re driving through Tamil Nadu towards Bangalore, you might pass by us. This is a place for people who have already finished their regular degrees and now want to become teachers themselves. It’s a different kind of atmosphere than a school for kids. It’s quieter, mostly. We have a library that’s usually full of people reading and taking notes. The college building is functional and sits right there by the main road. The pin code is 635002. Most of our students come from around Krishnagiri or the neighboring towns. We have a few staff members who handle the administration and others who do the teaching. It’s a lot of talk about lesson plans and how to manage a classroom. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or modern art on the walls. It’s just a college with desks, chairs, and a lot of books. The traffic on Bangalore Road can be quite noisy during the day, so we’ve gotten used to talking over the sound of trucks and buses. It feels like a very practical place to be. We are just here to help the next group of teachers get their qualifications so they can go out and work in schools across the state. It’s a simple setup but it works for us. We have been here for years and the routine doesn't change much.
