Kasinaickenpatti Higher Secondary School

Our school, Kasinaickenpatti Higher Secondary School, is located in Kadhirimangalam in the Vellore region. It’s a higher secondary school, so we deal with the older students who are preparing for their big exams and thinking about what comes next. The school is out in a more rural part of Vellore, so it’s surrounded by a lot of open space and trees. We have a few different buildings on the grounds for the various classes. It can be quite a walk from one end to the other. The students come from all the surrounding villages, often taking the bus or walking quite a distance. We see them arriving in groups every morning. The atmosphere is pretty serious because of the grade levels we teach, but there’s still plenty of laughing and talking in the corridors. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or polished lobbies. It’s just a place of learning with chalkboards and stacks of paper. The teachers here really put in the time and have been working in Kadirimangalam for many years. We deal with the heat and the occasional power cuts just like everyone else in the area. It’s just a regular part of life here. We focus on getting the students through their courses and helping them move on to whatever is next for them.
