Hosur Flowers Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are based out of No. 3/300 in Choodapuram Village. It's part of the Belathur Post area. It’s a group of us who work with the flowers grown around Hosur. Everyone knows Hosur is famous for its blooms, and we are right in the middle of it. The work starts really early in the morning when the dew is still on the petals. If you don’t get them moved fast, they won’t last very long in the heat. It’s a lot of coordination between different growers in the village. We aren't some big city corporation; we are just people from the local area trying to manage what we grow together. The office is just a simple building where we keep the records. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing and other times it's quiet enough to hear the birds outside. We have to deal with the weather a lot, because if it's too dry, the flowers really suffer. Dealing with perishables is stressful but rewarding when you see the colors in the trucks. Most of the families around here have been farming for generations. We just try to help get the flowers from the fields to where they need to go. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and checking the stems for quality. We aren't looking to become famous, just keeping the traditions of Choodapuram going. It's hard work but it is honest and keeps us busy.
