Uni Lok Stone Industries

We are situated at 8/164 E on Silk Street. It’s a good location because we are quite close to St Joseph Boys Higher Secondary School and not far from Calicut Beach. You can sometimes catch a bit of the sea breeze if the wind is right, though mostly we just deal with the heat. We work in the stone industry, which means there is a lot of cutting, grinding, and moving heavy materials around. Our yard is usually busy, and there’s always the sound of machinery in the background. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we like the pace. People from all over Calicut come by to see what kind of stone we have in stock. We don't have a fancy marketing team. We just show people what we’ve got and let them decide. The school nearby means there’s a lot of activity in the mornings and afternoons. Silk Street has its own charm, even with all the grit that comes with stone work. We’ve been here for a long time, and the building itself has seen better days, but it serves us well. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the stone is cut to the sizes people need. It’s practical work, and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is. Just a bunch of us working with stone near the beach, making sure the slabs are handled right. Most days are spent out in the yard rather than behind a desk.
