You can find us down in Kozhikode, Kerala, at the Majors location. This is a different world compared to the industrial north. Out here, the air is often thick with rain or the smell of the sea, and everything is much greener. Our office is a simple setup meant to handle the local side of the steel business in this part of India. The address is 673 570, and it is a place where we do not rush things too much. That is not to say we do not work hard, because we do, but there is a different pace to life in Kerala. We sit at our desks with the fans whirring overhead, trying to keep the papers from blowing away. We do not have a big corporate sign or a bunch of marketing posters on the walls. It is just a practical space where we can meet and get our tasks done. Most of the people working here have lived in the area their whole lives, so we speak the local language and know how things work around here. We deal with logistics and local orders, making sure the steel gets where it needs to go without too much trouble. It is a humble operation, really. We just show up, do our work as best as we can, and enjoy the quiet moments when the rain starts to fall on the roof outside. It is a good place to be.
