Steel Mart

Steel Mart is sitting right at the Cherootty Road Junction, and being 42/3521, we are very close to the petrol pump. It’s a busy intersection, so there’s always the sound of horns and engines in the background. We spend a lot of time watching the traffic while we wait for the next customer to walk in. The shop is mostly just a place to store the various steel items we keep on hand. It’s not a fancy showroom by any means. We have metal bars leaning against the walls and stacks of sheets on the floor. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes, especially when a new shipment arrives and we have to find space for it all. The heat can get pretty bad in the middle of the day, so we mostly stay near the fans. We don’t bother with advertisements or trying to sound like a big company. We’re just a local business at a busy crossroad. People know the petrol pump, so they usually find us without too much trouble. We spend our days measuring things, cutting pieces to size, and loading them into the back of small trucks or autos. It’s physical work and it’s often dirty, but we’ve been doing it this way for a long time now. We just take things one day at a time and keep the shop running.
