Kharafi Steel

Kharafi Steel is located up in Mattappalliyil, Kakkayam, which is a bit of a drive if you’re coming from the main towns. The landscape around here is rugged, and that kind of fits the work we do with steel. It’s a heavy industry, and our site reflects that. There are stacks of metal everywhere, and the sound of clanging steel is pretty much the soundtrack to our lives. We don't have any fancy landscaping or a polished storefront. It’s just a yard and a workshop where we handle the materials. The weather in Kakkayam can be a bit unpredictable, with heavy mists or sudden downpours, so we spend a lot of time making sure everything is covered and dry. Our team is small, and we mostly just focus on the task at hand. It’s physical work, and by the end of the day, everyone is usually exhausted. We eat our lunch together in a small shed that doubles as a break room. There’s no marketing department here, just people who know how to work with metal. The road up here is winding, and it keeps things quiet except for our own noise. We stay busy with the orders we have and don't worry too much about anything else. It’s a tough spot to work sometimes, but we’re used to the grit of it. We like the hills, even if they make the delivery trucks struggle on the way up.
