We are located at Mullanchirayil House, Door No: 440/A, in the Udumbanchola area of Idukki. Living and working in Idukki is all about the landscape. It’s hilly and can be quite a challenge to navigate if you aren't used to the narrow roads. We started Tophuts because we liked the idea of having small, simple places for people to stay while they explore the hills. It is a private limited company on paper, but in reality, it is a family-run sort of thing. We spend a lot of time outside, checking on the structures and making sure the rain hasn't caused any problems. The weather here can change in an instant, from bright sunshine to a heavy downpour. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches for us. We just talk to our guests like we talk to our neighbors. Sometimes the power goes out during a storm, and we have to get the candles and lanterns ready. It’s part of the charm, or at least that’s how we see it. We grow some of our own vegetables in the back, and the air always smells like tea and spices from the nearby plantations. It’s a humble setup. We just want to provide a roof over people's heads and a bit of peace. Nothing more, nothing less.
