Hotel Joyees Residency

Hotel Joyees Residency is located at Mannasseril House in Thalayazham. We are in the Vaikom area of Kottayam, which is a really nice part of Kerala. It’s a quiet spot, away from the really big cities, and that’s how we like it. The hotel is basically run out of this house, so it feels very much like a home. We have a few rooms that we keep ready for anyone coming through. Our family is usually around, making sure things are being taken care of. We spend a lot of time in the garden or cleaning up the common areas. It’s not a place with a big staff in uniforms. It’s more like staying with people you know. We’ve been here for a while and we know the roads and the local spots around Vaikom quite well. The atmosphere is usually pretty slow and relaxed. We don't have a big front desk that’s manned twenty-four hours a day, but someone is always nearby if you need help. We try to make sure the rooms are comfortable and that the water is running right. It’s a simple life running a residency in this part of Kerala. Most of our guests are looking for a place to rest while they visit the backwaters or the temples. We just provide that space and try to be as helpful as we can without making a big fuss about it.
