Misty Mountain Plantation Resort

Being up here at Misty Mountain Plantation Resort in Kuttikanam means we deal with a lot of fog. Peermade is one of those places where the weather can change in about five minutes. One minute you can see the whole plantation and the next it’s all white outside the windows. It’s quiet, which is why we like it out here away from the bigger towns. Most of our days are spent checking on the grounds or making sure things are tidy in the rooms. We’re right by the Kuttikanam PO, so the mail guy knows us well. The air is always a bit damp and cool because of the altitude. It’s not the easiest place to get to if you’re in a rush, but that’s sort of the point. We’ve got trees all around and sometimes you can hear the birds more than anything else. Life moves a bit slower at the plantation. We don't have many big meetings or corporate talk. It’s mostly just us making sure everything is running okay for whoever stops by. The building itself has been around for a while and shows a bit of its age here and there, but it feels like home to us. We spend a lot of time outside when it’s not raining. It’s a simple life, honestly. We don't try to be anything we aren't, just a place to stay in the hills and watch the mist roll in.
