Golden Water

You can find us at Golden Water, which is part of the Golden Water Resort Kumarakom Tourist Complex North. This part of Kumarakom is really something else, with all the greenery and the water nearby. Our work here isn't just about sitting in an office. We spend a lot of time walking around the grounds and making sure everything is in order. It’s a humid place, so things are always needing a bit of paint or a quick fix. We aren't a big international hotel chain. We are a smaller operation and we like to keep things a bit more personal. Sometimes the birds are so loud in the trees that you can’t hear yourself think, but it beats the sound of city traffic any day. We spend a lot of our time talking to people who have traveled a long way to get here. We don't use scripts when we talk to our guests; we just say hello and help them with their bags or tell them where the best view is. The tourist complex can get busy during the season, but we try to keep our corner of it feeling relaxed. It’s a lot of physical work, keeping the paths clear and the water looking right. We have a small staff and we all do a bit of everything. It’s not the kind of job where you sit behind a computer all day.
