Vishnu Furtilizer & Pestisites

We are located at 25-A in Dhanmandi. Since we are in the mandi area, everything revolves around the farming seasons. When it’s time to sow, the shop is full of farmers looking for the right seeds and fertilizers. We have large sacks of urea and other chemicals stacked up high against the walls. It can get very dusty and the smell of the pesticides is quite strong, so we usually keep the front wide open to let the air in. We talk to the farmers about their crops and what kind of bugs are bothering their fields this year. It is a serious business because if they use the wrong thing, it affects their whole harvest. We don't have any fancy displays. The floor is concrete and there are heavy scales for weighing out smaller quantities of stuff. During the off-season, things are much slower, and we spend time cleaning the shop or catching up on paperwork and accounts. My clothes often get white powder on them from moving the bags around. It is hard work, especially loading the bags onto the tractors and trucks that park outside in the heat. We've been in Dhanmandi for many years, so we know the cycles of the crops and the people who grow them. We just provide the supplies they need to keep their farms going and hope for a good rain. That is how it has always been for us here.
