Hotel Madras

Hotel Madras is situated right near Kota Junction. Since we are so close to the station, we see people from all over the country coming through our doors every day. It is a fast-paced place because everyone is usually in a hurry to catch a train or has just arrived and is looking for a place to sit down for a minute. We don't have the quietest atmosphere, but that is the nature of being at a major junction. The building is older and has its quirks, like the occasional leaky tap or a creaky floorboard, but it is home to us. We serve simple meals that remind people of home when they are traveling. The staff has been here for years and they know how to handle the rush when a big train pulls in. We don't use fancy tablecloths or expensive plates. Everything is practical and meant to be used. Sometimes we talk to travelers who have long stories about where they are going or where they have been. It makes the job interesting. We stay open late because the trains don't stop, so there is always someone looking for a bite to eat or a place to rest. We don't have a big corporate office; it is just us managing things from the front desk. We try to keep things honest and straightforward for everyone. It is a busy life at Kota Junction.
