If you walk through Indira Market, you might run into our small spot, Dinesh Diamond Cutters. It’s a bit cramped in here sometimes with all the tools and the dust, but we make it work. We've been sitting in this same market for years. Most of the other shopkeepers know us by name now. It’s not a quiet place to work, especially with the noise from the street, but you get used to it. We spend our days hunkered over the benches. My hands are usually a bit rough from the work, and the lighting could probably be better, but it gets the job done. We don't have a fancy waiting area for people. Usually, someone just stands by the door and talks to us while we finish up. It’s a simple life. We wake up, open the shutters, and start cutting. Sometimes the tea man comes by twice a day, and that’s the highlight of the afternoon. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the city. We just want to stay here in Indira Market and keep doing what we know. It feels right to be part of the local bustle. If the weather is hot, we keep a fan going and just carry on. You won’t find any big advertisements for us, just the sign above the door that's seen better days.
