Biju Patnaik (Junior) College

This college is located in Kundura, which is in the Koraput district. It’s a pretty quiet area compared to the big cities. We deal with students who have finished their tenth grade and are looking to do their plus two. The building is an older one and it has seen better days, but it serves its purpose for the local community. We have several classrooms with wooden benches that have been around for quite a while. Most of the staff members live nearby and have been working here for years. We don't have a lot of modern technology or high-speed internet, so we mostly stick to textbooks and the blackboard. The office is usually piled up with files and registration forms. During the monsoon, the yard gets quite muddy and it can be a bit of a mess. Students walk from the nearby villages or take the local bus which stops not too far from the gate. We have a small library where they can sit and read, though it's not very big. The atmosphere is generally relaxed, except during the exam seasons when everyone is a bit stressed. We don't try to be anything fancy. It is just a place for students in this part of Koraput to get their higher secondary education without having to travel too far away from their homes. We just keep things running day by day as best as we can.
