We are based out in Bellary, Karnataka, which is pretty much the heart of where everything happens for Jsw Steel Limited in this region. If you have ever been to this part of the state, you know it is famous for the rocks and the heat. There is a lot of industry around here and we are right in the middle of it. Our site is huge and it takes a while just to drive from one end to the other. It’s not a quiet place at all. There is always the sound of metal moving or people shouting instructions over the noise. We have been here for a long time and the local community is mostly built around what we do at the plant. It is very dusty and your shoes are usually covered in red dirt by the end of the day. We don't have a lot of fancy office furniture or anything like that. Everything is built to be useful and to last. The people who work here are tough and used to the long hours. We usually eat together and talk about the day's output or whatever is happening in the town. It is a very straightforward way of living. We just make the steel and make sure it gets loaded onto the trains and trucks. It’s a big job but we just take it one day at a time.
