Binani Cements Limited

Our spot is called Binani Cements Limited and we are located right near the railway station in Kollam, Kerala. The place is actually known as Kailasa Mandiram. Being so close to the station means there is always a lot of noise and people moving around. You can hear the trains pulling in all day long. It is a humid part of the country, so the air always feels a bit heavy, especially inside the office. We spend most of our time talking to contractors and checking on shipments. It is not a very large office, just enough space for us to get the job done. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that right now. We have been here for a bit and everyone in the neighborhood knows where Kailasa Mandiram is. Sometimes the rain in Kerala is so heavy we have to shut the windows tight and it gets a bit stuffy. We just drink our tea and keep track of the cement bags going out to different sites. It is a practical life, nothing like what you see in movies. Just daily work, making sure the ledger matches the stock. Dealing with the railway freight schedules is a big part of what we do every day. It is just us, some old desks, and the sound of the trains. It gets the job done and we keep things moving as best as we can.
