Our office is located at 155/H/17 Keshab Chandra Sen Street, which is a very busy part of Kolkata. There is always a lot of noise coming from the street, with trams and buses and people shouting, but we’ve gotten used to the background hum. It’s a typical North Kolkata building, so the ceilings are high and the rooms stay relatively cool even when it’s hot outside. We’ve been here for a while now, and the place is definitely lived-in. There are maps on the walls and stacks of bricks or samples in the corner from our various projects. We are just a small group of people trying to handle the real estate business without too much drama. We don't use any of those fancy business terms you hear in big cities. Instead, we just talk to people plainly and try to get the work finished. Sometimes we lose track of time because there’s so much to do, and before we know it, it’s evening and the street lights are coming on. We don't have a big staff, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from answering the door to filing taxes. It’s not always organized, and our desks can get quite cluttered, but we know where everything is. We just want to do our jobs and go home to our families at the end of the day.
