Ysv Infrastructures is located at 167 Old China Bazar Street in Kolkata. This part of town is always crowded and noisy, but it’s where we’ve always been. The building is old, and the stairs are a bit steep if you are carrying heavy files. We do infrastructure work, which means we spend a lot of time looking at roads and drains. It is not the kind of work that gets you a lot of praise, but it is necessary for the city. Our office is usually a mess of maps and half-empty coffee cups. We have a small crew that has been together for a long time. We know each other's habits by now. Every morning starts with a trip to the local market nearby to see what's happening. The traffic on Old China Bazar Street is something you just have to accept if you work here. Sometimes our deliveries get stuck for hours. We don't use much fancy technology, just basic tools and a lot of manual labor. It’s a tough business in Kolkata because of the weather and the narrow streets. We don't have a big corporate story to tell. We just show up, do the work, and hope the rain stays away long enough for the concrete to set. It is a bit of a struggle sometimes, but we like being right in the middle of the city.
