We have been operating out of this spot at 40 Phears Lane for more years than I can really count. It is not the most modern space you will ever see, and the walls have a few cracks that we really should fix one of these days. My desk is usually covered in papers and old invoices that haven't been filed yet. It gets pretty loud outside during the afternoons when the market is in full swing. We mostly spend our time talking to suppliers and trying to keep track of everything coming in and out of the doors. Some days it feels like we are just chasing our own tails but we manage to get things done eventually. There are only a few of us here so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering the phone to moving boxes around the back room. The lighting is a bit dim in the hallway but you get used to it after a while. Most people who visit us know exactly where to find us because we have been in the same corner of the building forever. We do not have fancy furniture or a big lobby area for people to sit in. It is just a workspace where we get on with things. Sometimes the internet goes down and we have to wait for the guy to come and fix it, which can take hours. That is just how things go around here usually.
