Vjypr Construction Llp is up on the 5th floor at 2 Sir Hari Ram Goenka Street. We’re in the heart of Kolkata, and it’s a long walk up if the lift isn't working right. The office is where we do all the planning and the boring stuff like taxes. Most of the real work happens out on the streets of West Bengal where we have our projects. We’ve been at this for some time, and we’ve learned that things rarely go exactly as planned. You might have a delay with the cement or a worker gets sick, and you just have to adapt. We aren’t a huge corporation with thousands of employees. We’re a smaller group that keeps things personal. We know our suppliers by name and we know the neighborhoods where we build. Our space on the 5th floor is often cluttered with hard hats and rolls of paper. It isn't very tidy, but we know where everything is. We don't put on a show for anyone. If you come by, you’ll see us just as we are, likely arguing over a measurement or checking a budget. It’s a busy life, and the heat in Kolkata can be brutal, but this is what we do. We just keep our heads down and try to make sure every wall we put up is straight and every floor is level.
