Out here at Plot No. 34 and 35 in the Kasba Industrial Estate, things are always moving. We are Unicraft Machinery & Trolley Pvt. Ltd., and we’ve been working out of Phase II for quite some time. The industrial estate is a noisy place, full of other shops and trucks coming in and out, but we like it here. We spend our hours putting together trolleys and looking at machinery designs. It’s dusty work and our hands usually have some grease on them by noon. The office is just a small corner of the factory floor where we keep the papers. We don't have a big front desk or anyone in a suit waiting to greet people. Usually, someone is just welding or bolting something together when a visitor drops by. Being in Kasba means we are surrounded by other people making things, which feels right. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or advertisements. We just focus on making sure the trolleys are sturdy enough to carry whatever the customers need to move. Sometimes the power goes out in the estate, but we just wait it out and get back to the metalwork once it’s back. It’s a plain way of doing business, but it works for us. We handle the heavy lifting so others don't have to. Most of the guys here have been with us for years, just doing the daily grind in Phase II. It's not glamorous work, but it pays the bills and keeps the industrial estate moving.
