We are located in the Baghajatin area of Jadavpur, specifically in Sree Colony at 2/170. It’s a more residential part of Kolkata compared to the main hub. Our business, Ujjwal Vastra Bipani, is a small place where we handle textiles. Living and working in South Kolkata is nice because it’s a bit calmer. We don't have a massive warehouse, just enough space to store our stock and handle the daily paperwork. Most of our neighbors are regular families. Sometimes people get confused finding the house number, but once you’ve been here, it’s easy. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to provide what people need and keep the business running smoothly. The work involves a lot of checking different types of cloth and making sure the quality is what it should be. We use a lot of local transport to move things around. My day usually starts with a walk around the colony before settling in at the desk. There is no dress code or formal meetings here. We just talk to people as they come in. It’s a very local way of doing things. We handle the accounts ourselves and keep things pretty straightforward. It’s practical work for practical people, and we like the neighborhood we are in.
