Trio Engineers

Our workshop is over at 2 Gagan Sarkar Road in Beliaghata. If you know the area, you know it’s got that old Kolkata feel to it, with narrow lanes and a lot of history in the walls. We’ve been operating out of this space for quite some time, and it has definitely seen better days, but it serves us well. The walls are stained from years of work, and there is always that smell of oil and old metal hanging in the air. Beliaghata is a busy place, and there’s always the sound of rickshaws and motorbikes passing by the entrance. Inside, we have our machines set up in a way that makes sense to us, even if it looks a bit chaotic to someone just walking in. We spend a lot of time just fixing things and making sure the engineering side of things is handled properly. There isn’t a big staff here, just a few of us who know the equipment inside out. When the monsoon hits, the rain drums so loud on the roof that we have to shout to hear each other, but we just keep working through it. We don’t have a website or a marketing person; we just rely on the fact that we’ve been on Gagan Sarkar Road long enough for people to know what we do. It’s a simple setup, and that is exactly how we like it. We just open the doors and start our day.
