You can find us at No. 119 Arabinda Sarani in the Hatibagan area. We are right opposite Ratulangi Jeweller, which is a good landmark because Hatibagan can be a real maze if you don't know where you are going. The street outside is famous for its markets and it is almost always packed with people looking for deals. Our shop is tucked into this busy stretch, and we spend our days dealing with the flow of shoppers. Inside, it’s a bit of a sanctuary from the noise outside, though you can still hear the shouting of the street vendors. We work on various items and the shelves are usually piled high. We don't have a lot of floor space, so we have to be careful where we put things. Sometimes we get so busy that we forget to eat lunch until it’s nearly evening. The building is one of those old ones with high ceilings and thick walls. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks to get people inside. Usually, they just wander in while they are shopping for jewelry across the street or looking at the clothes nearby. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We know the other shopkeepers on the block and we often help each other out. It is a community where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We just keep our heads down and focus on what we are making for the customers.
