You can find us at 40 Strand Road, right on the ground floor in Room No. 34. This part of Kolkata is always buzzing with trade, especially being so close to the river. The building is one of those old ones with thick walls and high ceilings, and our room is tucked away where it’s a bit quieter. We are engineers and sales promoters, which is a bit of a mixed bag. We represent different industrial products and help companies get the right equipment for their plants. Room 34 isn't very large, so it’s pretty full of catalogs, samples, and old ledgers. We have a few desks squeezed in, and there is always a pot of tea on the go. Most of our day is spent on the phone or meeting with people who drop by the market area for their own business. We’ve been here for years, and we know the other traders on the ground floor pretty well. It’s a very traditional way of doing business—lots of talk, handshakes, and keeping track of things on paper. We don't have a website that does much, and we don't really do marketing in the modern sense. We just know our products and we know who needs them. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are in the office, but we make it work. It’s just how things are on Strand Road, constant movement and simple trades.
