Telemarketing

This is basically Shabana Begum’s place, operating as Telemarketing. It’s located in Shalidaha village, which is out in the North 24 Parganas district. If you’re coming this way, you usually have to go via Kanchrapara. It’s a small, local setup, nothing like those huge call centers you see in the movies. It’s just about making calls and talking to people on behalf of others. The work is mostly done from a quiet corner of the house or a small rented room. Being in a village means things are a bit slower, but we still get the work done. We handle lists of names and phone numbers, trying to explain products or services to whoever picks up the phone.
