We are located on the ground floor of the Angur Apartment building on Middle Road. It’s Flat No. B1. Santoshpur is a nice area, but Middle Road can get quite congested during the morning rush. Being on the ground floor is handy because people can just walk right in off the street without having to deal with stairs or a slow elevator. The office itself is pretty basic. We’ve got some desks pushed against the walls and a lot of cables running along the floor for the computers. It’s often a bit chilly because the sun doesn't hit this side of the building much, so we usually keep a sweater handy. We spend a lot of time talking to people looking for work. It’s a lot of listening and typing. The apartment vibe makes it feel less like a cold office and more like a neighborhood spot. There is always someone coming or going, and the doorbell is quite loud. We usually have a stack of resumes on the corner table and a calendar that is marked up with scribbles. It’s not a fancy setup with glass partitions or leather chairs. We just have what we need to get the job done. Sometimes the neighbors from upstairs drop by to say hello or ask about something. It’s a very grounded way to work in Kolkata.
